Emma Thompson, Sybill Trelawney in the “Harry Potter” films, is scheduled to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next Friday, August 6. Ms. Thompson, who will be joined by Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Laurie in speaking at the late-morning ceremony in front of the Pig ‘n Whistle pub on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

In another sign that the “Harry Potter” actors are moving on from the series, news comes that Tom Felton has signed with Six String Productions to produce some new songs.
Claiming copyright infringement, the estate of deceased author Adrian Jacobs sued the U.S. publishers of JK Rowling’s “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” book (Scholastic) today for lost profits. The estate last year sued the UK publisher (Bloomsbury) as well as Rowling. We’ll let the 2009 statements of Bloomsbury and Rowling stand. Scholastic has thus far refused comment.
Warner Bros. has updated their official “Harry Potter” web site to begin promoting “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” The new site is restrained and elegant in its simplicity and greets visitors first with the trailer that was shown at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, before leading into a bare-bones selection of options including a small gallery.
